The SlimQuick product has produced mix reactions in consumers. User feedback is duly noted. This is done so that potential customers understand what it can/cannot do for a person.

The feedback you see below is divided into two categories-positive and negative. This should give you a more balanced view of SlimQuick.

Positive

As you can see the degree of positive comments ranges from excellent to mediocre. It helps to know and understand the range of positive outcomes it has on people. This shows how difference experiences are just totally different.

“SlimQuick Extreme did help me loose weight…”

“I have now started to take this and what i have found is that it speeds up my methabolic rate.”

“I have taken all of the slim quick products in the dosage amount suggested and have found that with a healthy diet and some exercise you can lose up 35 lbs.”

“This is my 5th day on SlimQuick and I’ve lost 6 pounds already.”

“I tried the regular SlimQuick formula and it worked at first, but although I ate little and exercised a lot, I only lost a total of 4 lbs in month.”

Negative

This section will show you that SlimQuick may just not be right for everyone. These are examples of times when people just did not experience the results hoped.

“Well I’ve been taking Slimquick extreme for about a week now…I haven’t seen any results!”

“I had to stop the product b/c it gave me way to much anxiety!”

“…I realize i can’t sleep properly, I am feeling very nervous.”

“This pill gives me crazy headaches!”

Warnings

Women who are pregnant should avoid taking SlimQuick. Hoodia as an ingredient in the pills can affect development of her fetus.

You should always make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into when you choose a product. This is important so that you can make sure you are not allergic to the ingredients in any way.

The use of hoodia gordonii is a very controversial topic these days. The conflict surrounding the usage of it exists for many, many, reasons.

The most pressing concern is the conflicting research. Another concern is the lack of education regarding the use of hoodia gordonii and related supplements.

The best that can be done right now is to report the disadvantages and advantages of using it. This is based on the general experience of using hoodia in one or a variety of forms.

Advantages

Historical evidence of the effectiveness of the hoodia plant in delaying hunger is documented. It in fact was used as a much needed emergency supply of food. It was used to survive harsh desert conditions during times when food was not plentiful.

The indigenous tribes of South Africa also used hoodia gordonii on long hunting trips. It seemed to never fail as a way to curb hunger and it also helps quench thirst.

New ways of processing have made supplements made from this plant more widely available. More people from around the world can now experience the weight loss benefit by way of appetite suppression.

Disadvantages

Hoodia products often have an odor. In fact, one source says some of the hoodia supplements smell like rotten meat. Furthermore, although there is historical documentation of the success of this plant source curbing hunger, science is still behind.

For one, a wide array of supplements made from this plant are still not properly tested. If they are the results often are inconclusive. Certain supplements made with hoodia gordonii are also not very potent-not at all as potent as the aerial stems that are just harvested.

Conclusion

This is as best of a conclusion as can be given at the moment. You are responsible for your own choices when it comes to using various dietary supplements, including those made with hoodia gordonii.

If you want to learn more about hoodia-either in favor of it or against it-ask your doctor. It is not wise to start a new health supplement if you have not even had a doctor’s checkup in awhile.

Dieticians and nutrition specialists may also be a great source of help. Likewise, so would an herbalist or alternative medicine doctor. In the mean time you are recommended to just take as much of the hoodia gordonii as it says on the label and/or as much as usually is considered safe or effective (1,500 to 3,500 mg).

One thing that can help confirm the validity of claims about a new dietary supplement ingredient is media coverage. This is not always going to convince people but it does in some ways help if there is more than one source out there that claims something is true.

News Coverage

Various reports about hoodia gordonii have been generated by the following major news venues: ABC, BBC, CBS, and National Geographic. Other reports also have shown up on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today Show, and on 60 Minutes.

Granted, not all the reports that were issued had all positive things to say. However, among all these stations as well as others you can gain as much knowledge about this plant source as possible.

Sometimes the reports that were made questioned how valid claims were about hoodia gordonii effectiveness. Various aspects of weight loss such as that of fighting fat and suppressing appetite were explored in some of these reports, as well as others made.

It would do you well to go back and review some of these media reports if you have not done so already. Quite a few of them for sure have been presented from the year 2003 to present.

More Recently

Sometimes concerns are related to forms of hoodia. For instance, a 2010 report indicates that dietitians are wary of a cubed-shaped hoodia form. However, at the same time ABC reports of a woman who had lost 20 pounds in 3 months using this product.

In spite of this progress, there still is quite a bit of leeriness behind the use of this frozen hoodia ice cube supplement. There still is concern about the lack of evidence backing the effectiveness and safety of using any type of hoodia gordonii product.

Still to date the most prevalent evidence in the media lies within individual stories of this supplement’s effectiveness. This along with historical data is currently the best choice of information regarding usage of the gordonii species of this type of plant.

More about the cubed-shaped hoodia: It comes frozen. You can order it on the internet that way. You can put it in a glass of water or juice to keep it cold. Yet at the same time you can experience the appetite-suppressing benefits of the hoodia that makes up this frozen ice cube.

More Info

It is only the gordonii species of the hoodia succulent plant that has this appetite suppressant enzyme (P57) in it. Forms of this plant source and/or enzyme are found in many pills, teas, powders, extracts, snacks, juices, candy, and even lip gloss.

There are many hoodia research complications. This could actually be for a variety of reasons.

One of the reasons that hoodia research is so very challenging is because it takes quite awhile for the plant that it is harvested from to mature (about five years). According to some reports, it is the flowering portion of the hoodia gordonii plant that is most effective.

However, the ability to research the effectiveness of hoodia as an appetite suppressant is not totally hopeless. Obtaining facts about the working power of this plant is possible even though some news sources attribute news about this place to an overabundances hoopla but very little science.

The most substantial proof of its working power is in how it curbs a person’s appetite. This has been documented in several ways. For instance, you may have seen many times in the media the story of how reporters have gone on excursions to South Africa.

One news reporter for sure has tried it first hand. Some others since then have then more likely followed suit. However, the one media presentation you hear about most often is the one that 60 Minutes had presented a few years back.

This 60 Minutes report is one that is most in favor of hoodia gordonii. Again, since it takes so long for the plant to mature researching its effects is very challenging. This leads into the next challenge about hoodia research.

It is very expensive. Of course, that is the case with any clinical trial. However, the complication of waiting for the plant to mature with the expense of research it just makes matters doubly difficult.

Another Answer

One of the most prevalent proofs of the hoodia gordonii effectiveness is its historical use. In fact, this is often the case. History often is far more advanced than science-as far as research is concerned anyway.

Along those lines, you should know that the history of indigenous tribes such as the ones located in South Africa was passed to later generations orally. What took place in early times was often not written down.

Still, the story was told and the fact that it was told orally does not necessarily make it any less accurate. Mistakes in writing could have been made just as well.

As it turns out, many reports indicate the use of hoodia gordonii as an appetite suppressant. You may have even heard the story. You may have heard that hunters used it on long trips when food was sparse.

Bio Synergy is a very potent hoodia gordonii product that is used today. It seems very strong though at 8,000 mg. Is that safe for use?

Evaluation and Concerns

It is yet to be determined what is a maximum safe amount of hoodia to be used in one day. The general consensus, however, is that usually between 1,500 mg and 3,500 mg is effective amounts to use for appetite suppression and weight loss. Sometimes slightly lower or slightly high amounts are used.

Therefore, how in the world can these Bio-Synergy capsules be 8,000 mg? You should seriously look into the safety of using hoodia before you decide to use a supplement with this high of an amount.

Well, first off all you have to look at the label very closely. This declaration of 8,000mg of ingredient is actually misleading first of all.

The amount of hoodia gordonii in this product is NOT 8,000 mg but rather 400mg! The rest of the ingredients are different substances believed to help with weight loss. However, this product does not have in it 8,000mg of hoodia as some would think at first glance.

Another major concern about using the Bio-Synergy product is some of the ingredients. They are very questionable, such as silicone dioxide used to help prevent caking. And the hypromellose used to contain the capsule powder. However, it is highly likely that these are at safe enough levels.

You never can tell though-not unless you know the lab standards are those that measure up to FDA standards. You should check into the way a certain supplement is manufactured before you use it.

We have reviewed Unique Hoodia before. Now here is a basic list of pros and cons of this particular type of hoodia.

Pros

A healthy supply of C.I.T.E.S. certified hoodia gordonii is present in this product. Each dosage is 460mg. This is more potent of a dosage of this medication than in a large number of solutions out there-about 1/3 of the standard daily amount used to suppress appetite. This product is preferred for another reason, in that it has no fillers or binders in it. No excess ingredients just the pure plant product.

The Unique Hoodia brand is also one that is very much trusted around the world. It was tested in a FDA laboratory and has been proved to be clear of harmful substances such as E. Coli.

It is said to be able to help people reduce their food intake to 2,000 calories per day. People who have used it were able to lose on average from one to five pounds per week.

Cons

There is not quite as much research supporting the use of hoodia gordonii as scientists would like to have had. Right now medical teams and manufacturers are relying on small lab animal research to determine capability of this plant source to support appetite suppression.

Furthermore, users often make the mistake of thinking they can rely on Unique Hoodia alone for their source of weight loss. They need to understand that proper dieting and exercise is also necessary.

There also is the danger of taking too much hoodia. This could lead to accidental starvation. Therefore, it is not recommended to people who are prone to eating disorders.

People who have struggled with anorexia nervosa are especially susceptible to further problems. However, people who are bulimic (binging and purging disorder) also may not be able to use it.

The best way to evaluate this product is to learn more about its advantages and disadvantages. This should give you some clue as to how it could help you or hurt you, or otherwise be good, bad, or indifferent.

Advantages

The source of hoodia is from the aerial stems of the plant. This is the portion of the hoodia gordonii that has the P57 enzyme in it. Another advantage (at least according to some people) is that the ingredients are all natural.

This formula also has a fair amount of fiber in it to help you digest your food properly. Furthermore, it is a fairly inexpensive solution at only $30.50 for 30 capsules. The main ingredients in this supplement are very familiar and often associated with weight loss.

Disadvantages

This product has in it a relatively low amount ofh. gordonii per dosage (only 250mg). This may not be enough in this single dosage to help suppress appetite.

Although there is no official FDA recommendation, generally people use at least 700 mg, but typically 1500 mg of hoodia before they notice a difference. This could be a problem for people who are attempting to lose weight, as the amount of appetite suppressant ingredient present may not be enough.

This product also has not really been on the market for that many years. Therefore, the evidence pointing to its ability to burn fat is very limited. Furthermore, safety of some of the ingredients is questionable, although most of the ingredients are quite common.

Propagation is the act of reproducing something. It is a challenge to get a license to propagate hoodia gordonii, but it can come into fruition.

The hoodia gordonii supply that has been studied and chosen for the use of appetite suppression originates in Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa. This is the only supply of a complete genus of hoodia succulent plants that has this P57 molecule.

Reason for Strict Control

The reason for such strict control over the hoodia gordonii plant is because governments of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa agree it is for the best. This is because there is only a limited supply of this plant available and there are only a few safe and ethical ways to harvest it. It helps protect all the species of hoodia plant.

Harvest Requirements

A valid C.I.T.E.S. certificate is needed, which is a type of license that helps protect wild plants. Another certificate is needed that is provided by the National Department of Agriculture-a phyto-sanitary certificate.

These licenses are also part of the requirement for export of hoodia gordonii out of South Africa. This is considered the only official appetite suppressant source.

Natural Propogation

The only way this is done naturally of course is by the force of the wind. This is a totally separate process which involves local reproduction of h. gordonii within a specific geographical location.

This is a very simple product to review, in that it just contains a source of 10:1 hoodia gordonii concentration in it. According to the product website, this is a certified supply of hoodia as well.

Ingredients

This supplement is a basic supply of plant of a reasonable amount. It has 750mg per dosage of an appetite suppressant. It also has the following fillers/additives in it: Stearic acid, magnesium stearate, MCC, and Can Tab.

The claim is that users are able to lose an average of two to four pounds. These results may be different for each user, though. It depends how many doses are taken in a day, as the typical amount of hoodia normally used would be a minimum of 1,500 mg to be effective. (This is only a recommendation based on users though and not an FDA or USDA recommendation.)

Advantages

There is a long record of ancient tribesmen who have used hoodia as an appetite suppressant. Additionally, this specific capsule has about three times more than the average supplement (750mg versus 200 or 300mg).

Therefore, people who use it are likely to experience more of a weight loss than normally. The plant source in this product is also C.I.T.E.S. certified. It also is said to have a little bit of a mood enhancing effect.

Disadvantages

People might be disappointed if they still notice they are hungry. This product does not take away any psychological food cravings, only physical ones. Therefore, users still need to adhere to a regular exercise and diet program.

Although historically the hoodia gordonii plant is one that has provided sustenance on long trips, it is not FDA approved. The reason why it is not is mostly because the fact that it takes so long for this plant to mature (five years) that it takes forever for modern medical science to make advancements.

There has at least been evidence supporting the P57 enzyme effectiveness on animals. More testing is required for humans to further confirm because humans are different than small lab rats.
