What Hoodia Dosage Should I Be Taking?

There is no single recommended dosage for the consumption of Hoodia supplements – and this can unfortunately be quite confusing for some people. When you purchase a Hoodia supplement, the average daily dose is shown on the back of the pack – however you should understand that this is only an average – and not a personalized dosage recommendation.

In actual fact, some people may need double the average amount to feel any effect – especially when it comes to appetite suppression. Too little Hoodia, and the effects will not be strong enough to manifest any response in the central nervous system. Too much Hoodia, and you run the risk of an upset stomach, or ultimately liver damage.

So, how do you ensure that you get the right dosage – and hence balance the positive and negative side? The answer, unfortunately, is trial and error.

When you first start taking Hoodia supplements, we would recommend that you begin with the average dose. Take this for about a week at the recommended times, and see if you feel the effects of the Hoodia on a regular basis. You will know if you are feeling these effects, because your appetite will be suppressed after you take the product.

If indeed you are experiencing positive results, then it is clear that the dosage you are only taking is right for you. However, if there is little to no change in your appetite, it may be that you need to increase the dosage.

There is a “best way” of doing this. Basically, what you need to do is gradually step up in the dosage until you do feel an effect. This does not mean you should automatically double the dosage and see what happens. If not, try increasing it by another 20%. You can continue doing this up until around 4000 mg per day (the average dosage is about 2000 mg per day). This is still a safe level to consume the product at, and you shouldn’t feel any side effects whatsoever.
